History:
Companion was the first mini-game I made that simulated physics-based collisions. I also wanted to experiment with something different than a conventional start button to begin the game, and in doing so I found my current method to work quite well as a non-invasive tutorial. Players were far more likely to protect the companion circle from falling away from the center if they were the one who put it there in the first place. Currently only the first level of the game is finished and there are a number of other higher priority projects, but I do want to return to Companion at some point to further flesh out its gameplay.
